Gotta Lose This Baby Fat Now!!!

"It's just baby fat. It'll go away."

Baby fat...That's only true for babies. Mommies have to MAKE their baby fat go away.

I now have a beautiful 8-month old baby that I breast fed for 4 months. I read all about the benefits of breast feeding for both myself and my baby: She was receiving the best nourishment for her and I was getting a huge boost in calorie loss. During those 4 months, I maintained a very healthy diet and I exercised because I wanted the nourishment that I provided for my baby to be the very best. I drank tons of water, ate plenty of fruits and vegetables, and stayed away from fried foods. I also did Pilates every morning to speed the process of weight loss. However, soon after I stopped breast feeding, I lost my motivation to eat healthy because my diet no longer affected my daughter and I rekindled my affair with McDonald's french fries. I also lost my calorie burner (as well as my desire to exercise)...

So now, 4 months later and another size bigger, I really, really need to lose this baby fat! My time is limited and so is my budget so gyms are out of the question. Yeah, I could go for walks and runs, but I live in the south and it's hot and very humid here and besides that, I just don't wanna! So I've decided to take out my Pilates DVDs again and give it another go! It's about 25 minutes every morning which isn't that bad and I don't mind the bending and stretching. Actually, it helps to get me going in the morning. The hard part is the diet... I want to totally change the way I eat. That's a pretty hard thing to do when I'm so in love with McDonald's fries. They're just so good to me! So, I've decided to do a semi-fast/cleanse to erase all traces of my eating past and start fresh!

I found this Master Cleanse diet that seems to be exactly what I'm looking for. It consists of saltwater and herbal tea laxatives and cayenne pepper flavored lemonade. I know it sounds awful, but I'm willing to give it a go and it's only for 10 days so I think I can handle it.

Every night, I have to drink the herbal tea laxative and every morning I have to drink a quart of sea salt water. And all day, the only thing I can drink is the lemonade mixture.

Here are the ingredients:

Sea saltwater

1 qt water

2 tsp sea salt

Lemonade

10 oz water

2 tablsespoons squeezed lemon juice

2 tablespoons maple syrup (grade a or grade b)

1/10 tsp cayenne pepper

Day 1

So this is what happened on day 1 of my Master Cleanse.

The herbal tea laxative I took last night took effect bright and early this morning at about 6:30. Very mild stomach cramps, no big deal... But then i drank the quart of sea salt water... It took about 30 minutes to work itself into the right spots and then I was flying to the bathroom! Very liquid bowel movements very often for about an hour (my butt is a little sore from all the wiping) and then I was fine. My stomach was a little empty but it wasn't that bad.

So then, the next step was the lemonade mixture, which is all I ingested for the rest of the day... (Ok! I cheated! I ate half a pack of crackers! But they were salt free.) The lemonade mixture isn't that bad... It's actually kinda tasty but the cayenne pepper took a little getting used to.

So all day that's all I had and my head was killing me for a couple hours before I went to bed but other than that nothing really bad to say except I was a little on the hungry side. Not starving, but I was pretty aware that I wasn't eating food. It's kinda like how you feel around lunch time. Like when you start thinking about what take out you want to order but can't decide because you're hungry. All in all, day 1 wasn't as bad as I thought it would be.

Day 2

Day 2...

Today went a lot better than yesterday! Since I didn't eat much of anything yesterday, there wasn't quite as much running out of me, but I still made quite a few quick dashes to the bathroom. I didn't cheat today. (Yay!) I also did not drink the minimum 6 glasses of lemonade either (I only drank 4) , but I'll let the crackers from yesterday take care of that. No headaches today either. Surprisingly, on day 2 I wasn't as tempted by food as I was yesterday. I smelled it, but it did not phase me.

Day 3

Day 3 has been pretty chill. Not really hungry, no headaches, the morning sea salt explosion wasn't bad at all or maybe I'm used to it. I drank the minimum 6 glasses today and I'm feeling great! I actually have a little more energy than I usually do as odd as that may seem. I was thinking I would be light headed and about to faint after 3 days of not eating but I'm actually energized and in very high spirits. Let's see what happens tomorrow...

Day 4

Great news! I tried on my skinny jeans today and I didn't have to wiggle into them like I usually do! That means I'm slimming down as well as cleansing! Today I still have a lot of energy and no headaches or cravings. I haven't drank all 6 glasses yet, but I will by night fall. Today was a good day, I must say.
